The acclaimed SAN Group of Hotels —a highly rated chain of hotels and restaurants in the city of Mysore, Karnataka, was founded by Sri Nagaraj Prasad, a figurehead of the hotel industry and the Chairman for the SAN Group of Hotels Mysore.
Established during a period of challenge for the hotel industry, our founder put in an immense amount of effort towards creating his hotels alongside his sons Mr.Sunil Kumar and Mr. Anil Kumar. Our founder’s vision quickly gained support from the town’s people and brought in many well-known corporate clients and businessmen from various regions of India.
On August 15, 1990, the Maurya Palace, a hotel with Ac and Non Ac rooms, opened its doors to the public. Along with his hotel, our founder opened one of the finest multi-cuisine restaurants called Jewel Rock, a true jewel for Mysoreans. The SAN Group brought in specialized chefs from all across the continent to create mouth-watering delicacies for the people of Mysore. This includes North Indian, Chinese, tandoor, and continental cuisine. They also specialize in various pastries and desserts. The 88-seater capacity restaurant includes a well-stocked bar on the mezzanine floor with a variety of cocktails and mocktails.
The father and son duo became popularly known for their personalized service, connecting with customers, and creating a happy environment. The Maurya Palace attracted tourists from all over the world as it is located near the famous Mysore Palace.
In the 90s, Mysore started to grow rapidly. Our founder’s hotel was overflowing with customers, our founder worked tirelessly towards his vision of expansion. In the year 2000, the SAN Group introduced the first vegetarian restaurant to the city of Mysore known as the Veg Kourt. Above it, a new hotel, The Maurya Residency, with modern amenities, luxury facilities, and 24 rooms was opened. The restaurant includes vegetarian multi-cuisine which caters to the large communities of vegetarian-eaters in Mysore. It has a 68-seater capacity and serves a variety of dishes such as thalis, and Ala-carte with a tandoor, Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian specialties.
Above the Maurya Palace is the Peacock Hall, the 150-capacity rooftop area that hosts parties, overlooking the breathtaking view of Chamundi Hills.
The Chairman, eager to expand his business with his sons, made his vision of a resort located on the outskirts of Mysore come to life. After two years of hard work, he built his resort and
named it the Grand Maurya Resort. The resort includes 30 beautiful cottages, banquet halls, and outdoor dining which can host a thousand people for all occasions, such as birthdays, marriages, engagements, receptions, and corporate events. The resort is spread over three acres of beautiful lawns and even has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor gym.
The Grand Maurya has a multicuisine restaurant that caters to the tandoor, Chinese, and North Indian delicacies.
SAN group further ventured into catering with SAN Hospitality and Services and now successfully cater to a large number of parties, events, weddings, conferences, etc.
The latest addition to the chain is The Coastal Jewel, a multi-cuisine restaurant specializing in coastal food while serving Indian, Tandoor, and Chinese alongside.
With the main focus on quality service and customer satisfaction, SAN Group continues to strive forward and upwards in fulfilling our founder’s vision and goal of providing affordable world-class hospitality to the people of Mysore.
